Sasha studies chemistry, history, and classics at Otago University. She’s interested in everything. When she’s not studying, she enjoys baking, reading, and talking with her 7 siblings.

Tash completed a BSc majoring in chemistry and pharmacology at the University of Otago in 2022 and is now working towards her Honours in chemistry in the Green Group. She’s interested in organic chemistry as well as medicinal chemistry. This year she’s working on the synthesis and analysis of nucleotide-lipid conjugates to determine key properties that could give insight into the origins of life.

Outside of university she plays netball, crochets and loves going out for food.

Nathan completed an MSc as John Edmond scholar at the University of Otago under Prof. David Larsen, investigating the mechanism of organic carbon monoxide-releasing prodrugs. He graduated with distinction in 2022, and took up a position as a Research Assistant, where worked on stereoselective methodologies towards α-galactosides with Prof. Larsen. He then joined the Green group to develop syntheses of nucleoside analogues. Outside of the lab, Nathan enjoys going for walks with an audiobook, listening to ABBA and winning at Catan!

OrcidID

Henry is working towards a BSc, majoring in Chemistry, and hoping to complete an Honours degree as well as a PhD in the future.

In terms of chemistry, he is interested in all synthetic chemistry, with a lean towards organic chemistry. He also enjoys the interplay between organic and inorganic chemistry, for example the potential avenues for new metal/inorganic catalysts for organic reactions. He would also like to incorporate principles of green chemistry wherever possible. Outside of chemistry and science, Henry is passionate about playing and watching football and listen to a lot of music, including having seen over 100 bands/musical artists live!
